America contribution to musical culture

America’s contribution to musical culture in the twentieth century has stemmed not only from the nation’s serious composure but, perhaps even more important, from its unusually vigorous and diverse popular music. The development of a sophisticated musical vernacular in the united State d to America came from the melting pot of peoples who immigrated to America from all corners of the world. The artistic traditions that they brought with them were quickly transformed and intermingled and their music flourished among a large and affluent middle class that sought entertainment.

2      By the early years of the twentieth century, a boras and multifaceted category of popular music called jazz had emerged. In its originality and vitality, jazz was destined to capture the attention of all elements of America society and be adopted as well by people outside the United States. It quickly left its mark on popular music of many nationalities as well as on the serious music of both European and American composers.  Its impact continues undiminished in the present day.

3       What is jazz? Even so basic a question cannot receive a simple answer, since the term jazz has always been used loosely and broadly to designate many types of popular music. Jazz can refer equally to a musical from such as the blues, a style with swinging rhythms, or a performance idiom involving improvisation. The expressive content of jazz is similarly broad: it may speak of the trag side of life as well as of its joys.
