Fiber-Optic Cable- A technology that uses glass or plastic threads fiber to transmit data. A fiber optic cable consists of a bundle of glass threads, each of which is capable of transmitting messages modulated into light waves.

Multimode Fiber Optic Cable- is a type of optical fiber mostly used for communication over short distances, such as within a building or on a campus. Typical multimode links have data rates of 10 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s over link lengths of up to 600 meters more than sufficient for the majority of premises applications. Loose tube fiber optic cable is designed for outdoor and indoor use as the network backbone whether it is for aerial lashed or underground applications.

Balanced Twisted Pair- This type of cable, such as Category 5E or 6 UTP cable. The proper name for the cable is balanced twisted pair cable. By balanced it is meant that the signals on each of the conductors of a pair of cables are of equal values, but they have opposite polarity or phase.
